SAFE DISPOSAL OF HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

SATURDAY AUGUST 21st 2021
8am – 12pm *APPOINTMENT REQUIRED*
UCRRA Facility located 1 Clearwater Road New Paltz

Please note these important program highlights:

  • MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING. We service hundreds of residents at each collection event. Please wear a mask when interacting with our staff. For safety and social distancing, participants must remain in their vehicle at all times.
  • PUT ALL ITEMS IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR. This is the safest way to transport hazardous wastes and will allow us to unload your vehicle easily and in a no-contact manner.
  • NO MEDICATIONS.  Medications will no longer be accepted at the HHW events.  For a medication drop-off location please click here.
  • A QUANTITY LIMIT WILL BE ENFORCED.  Each household may bring up to 220 lbs or a 25 gallon equivalent of the accepted items. No containers larger than 5 gallons will be accepted. UCRRA staff may make a judgment on the quantity of material each household is allowed to bring.
  • UNKNOWN WASTE. If you have any unknown waste (such as containers without a label, and/or you are not sure what chemicals are inside the container) please contact for more information as soon as possible for guidance and program rules.
  • NO UNAUTHORIZED WASTE WILL BE ACCEPTED.  UCRRA reserves the right to turn away persons bringing large quantities of waste, waste suspected to be originating from a commercial business, or any unauthorized wastes. It is very important that participants review our acceptable/unacceptable item list and contact the Agency with any questions.
  • All other program rules and criteria still apply!
  • Note: This event is at our NEW PALTZ facility. Do not go to the NYS DEC parking lot previously used.
