Public Notice on Annual Bloomington Election

LEGAL NOTICE – ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE BLOOMINGTON FIRE DISTRICT
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Bloomington Fire District will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Bloomington Fire Station, located at 14 Taylor Street Bloomington, NY 12411 for the purpose of electing the following fire district officers:

One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2025;

One Fire Commissioner for a four (4) year term, commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2024;

Pursuant to Town Law Section 174(2), the person receiving the greatest number of votes for the office of fire commissioner shall be elected for a term of five years.

All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Bloomington Fire District and not convicted of any degree of arson. Persons interested in being a candidate for a particular office must file with the Fire District Secretary at the Bloomington Fire District offices, 14 Taylor Street Bloomington, NY 12411, written notice with their names and the desired office, on or before November 18, 2020.

Any elector of the Bloomington Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Ulster County Board of Elections on or prior to November 16, 2020 and who shall have resided in the Bloomington Fire District for at least thirty days preceding the date of the election shall be qualified to vote.
