Parking Prohibited: The parking of vehicles is prohibited on all highways or any other public property of the Town between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am beginning the first day of November in each year and continuing through the first day of April in the succeeding year. (Local Law No. 1-1973) |
Building Permits: No persons, firm, or corporation shall commence the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, removal, improvement, demolition, conversion, or change in the nature of the occupancy of any building or structure or cause the same to be done, without first obtaining a seperate building permit from the Building Inspector for such building or structure, except that no building permit shall be required for the performance of ordinary repairs which are not structural in nature. Curfew: It shall be unlawful and a violation of this chapter for any person under the age of eighteen years of age to be or remain in or upon any of the streets, alleys, parks, or public places within the town limits of the Town of Rosendale after 10:00 pm and prior to 5:30 am unaccompanied by a parent, guardian or other person having the legal custody of such minor person. The above does not apply to persons under eighteen whose employment makes it necessary to be upon such streets, alleys, parks, or public places during the nighttime after such specified hour and/or who are going to/returning from a social or school function, provided or after going to that the foregoing is accomplished in a quiet, peaceful manner via a direct route. Leash Law: No person who owns a dog shall permit such dog to be at large in the Town of Rosendale unless said dog is restrained by an adequate collar and leach or unless accompanied by its owner or a responsible person able to control the animal, other than when on the premises of the person owning, keeping, or harboring or having the custody and control of such dog or upon the premises of another with the knowledge, consent and approval of the owner of said premises or when hunting in the company and under the control of a hunter or hunters. Noise Control Law: It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Town Board to prevent unreasonably loud, disturbing and unnecessary noise and to reduce noise level within the town so as to preserve, protect, and promote the public health, safety and welfare and to foster convenience, peace and quiet within the town by the inhabitants and transients thereof. The Town Board finds that every person is entitled to have maintained noise levels which are not detrimental to life, health, and the enjoyment of property, and that excessive and unnecessary noise within the Town of Rosendale affects and is a menace to public health, safety and welfare and comfort of the people of the town.
