The Recreation Commission is in charge of all the recreation facilities and parks within the Town of Rosendale. The facilities are constantly being updated and upgraded and we hope that you enjoy all that we have to offer.
Rosendale Community Center
The grounds of the Rosendale Community Center houses a community center, playground equipment, a baseball/softball field, swimming pool, pavilion, walking track, tennis courts, basketball court, and horseshoe pit.
The Community Center is available for rental for private parties or club meetings when not is use for Town functions. An application for use is available at the bottom of the page. The Community Center is divided into two areas, the “dining room” shown below has round tables that seat five each and the “great room” has rectangle tables and lots of chairs. It also has a dance floor, all you need is the music. The rooms are separated to accommodate two functions or the divider can be slid back to make one really big room. Accommodations large enough for 200 people. PLEASE BE AWARE: At the present time - The Town of Rosendale Recreation Center is now renting for events with a Maximum Capacity of 100 people. Depending on the New York State and County COVID Protocols.
The building has a large kitchen with ovens, burners, grill, deep fryers, several sinks commercial refrigerator and commercial freezer.
We hope you take advantage of all the recreational opportunities the Town of Rosendale has to offer. For information on renting one of the facilities, please contact the Recreation Department at 658-8198. You can download an application for use of the facilities by going to the Document Center on this website. Many of your questions can be answered by reading the application.
Pool
The swimming pool is located in the Community Center complex and is open to the public during the summer for a nominal fee, paid either as a daily rate or a season pass.
The Catherine O’Leary Pavilion is adjacent to the pool and open for use by the public. It has approximately 16 picnic tables and allows only gas grills to be brought in. It is also available for rent should you wish to reserve it for a party.
The Town of Rosendale Pool for 2023 will be open 7 days a week June 24, 2023:
pool hours are 12 -7 daily with early morning lap swimming from 7 to 8 am Monday – Friday
Please double check our postings should the Pool need to close for unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather.
The last day the Pool will be open is September 3, 2023.

Parks
Veteran’s Park is located at the intersection of Routes 213 and 32. Sit in quiet contemplation in the gazebo while gazing upon the waters of the Rondout Creek.
Linear Park is located behind the Red Brick on Main Street. It has lighting and benches that look out to the Willow Kiln Park.
Willow Kiln park is located behind the municipal parking lot off Main Street. Enjoy a picnic on one of the picnic tables or walk across the little bridge.
Rutsen Park is a small area off James Street behind the Youth Center that overlooks the Rondout Creek. Enjoy a cookout on one of the park grills and afterwards walk up the little hill where it joins the Community Center complex.
