Thanks to the talented photographer, Mr. Joe Poczciwinski, for sharing this gorgeous picture of Binnewater Lake, taken from Binnewater Road, with all of us who love to look at our beautiful township. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.....

With much thanks to Dr. Lisa Fields-Jacobson for submitting these gorgeous pictures taken from behind her home in Rosendale.
I am so glad that someone had such a beautiful view of Fall 2003 in Rosendale, as I did not have the chance to get any photos due to other work committments.
Here is one of the Ridge behind the house ....

Here is a view of old cement silos

I thank Lisa for sharing these photos of the beauty
of Rosendale in the Fall

Our Town is such a beautiful place to live and visit....
Rosendale is full of historical houses, bucolic landscapes and many other picturesque eye-soothing sites to behold. Those of us who live here can enjoy it daily....those of you who visit can cherish our beauty in your mind's eye....or come here occasionally to see new photos that will be put on occasionally to entice you!
Keep Scrolling on the Page for a full Pictorial...
This is such a gorgeous body of water from any angle, hope you enjoy the views.

Looking towards Eddyville-imagine boats all the way from Honesdale, Pennsylvania used to carry coal to the Hudson down this creek, many years ago

And now it is so peaceful, like a mirror reflecting the beauty of the trees...

With just a movement of a foot, beautiful ripples can add a lovely texture to the still water

With all the rain, this is the rapidly flowing water coming through from under Creek Locks Road and down from the hills

Here is a less tumultuous view of the waters coming out from the culvert under Creek Locks Road

OUR OWN COVERED BRIDGE-PERRINE'S
Although only half of this wonderful relic is actually in the Town of Rosendale and the other half is in the Town of Esopus, I wanted to include a picture of this, as it is the oldest covered bridge in New York State and we are lucky enough to have it for our viewing pleasure. Here is a little more about N.Y. covered bridges:
The Burr arch truss is represented in New York by three extant historic bridges currently listed in the State and National Registers: Perrine's Bridge (1844), Ulster County; Salisbury Center Bridge (1875), Herkimer County; and Hyde Hall Bridge (1823), Otsego County.

The Canal Park
Here's a little peak of the tranquility of the linear or canal park behind The Alamo on Main Street. Lights have been installed and it is a wonderful place to sit and reflect on the beauty we have in this township.

It has been a while since Allan Blatt, owner of New Global Cigars on Main Street, had his building repainted and it is about time we post a picture of this historic building in its new painted glory! Thanks to Allan for his contribution to making Main Street a historically pretty place to live and visit!

Here is the front view of this gorgeous building with its three stories of original Rosendale architecture

One can always smile when passing New Global as the Punch Statues are so whimsical as they exhibit that "now famous" smirk to passers-by on Main St.

The Rosendale Cafe, just a parking lot away from New Global (seen above) also showcases historic charm, crowned by three chimneys that reach for the skies with pride. In the back of the cafe' is the Rosendale Pantry which helps many needy individuals and families in the area.

Fall colors by the Railbridge walk
Look at the view of the fall foliage from the rail trail walkway and if you take a walk along this wooden path you can view what the picture below captured.

This is the view as it appeared, Fall 2002 in October and each season gives nature's own picturesque view of the gorgeous natural elements in Rosendale

Now....for those of you who dream of Spring...take a look at Memorial Park and remember the flowers blooming and the beautiful Cherry Tree in full splendor....

Now for a little creativity....here's a painting/watercolor version of the view from Creek Locks Road across from the Creek Locks Campsite. Enjoy!

For those of us who have always appreciated the fact that our "blue bridge" was a great means for giving directions into town to people coming to visit, I thought I would include a picture of it for old times sake. PICTURE TAKEN APRIL 2, 2002

Our historic Library in Rosendale-Photo taken 02/03/02

Thought it would be interesting to post old pictures and some old newspaper postings for Ol' Times Sake. The history of a town is always an interesting subject...clickhere and enjoy. And...if anyone has anything to add feel free to drop us an email at this link: info@townofrosendale.com |
