The Board of Review is a five-member board appointed by the town to hear complaints regarding tentative assessments. All Board of Review members must be residents of the town. The Board hears complaints and reviews evidence submitted by property owners regarding their tentative assessments in May of each year.  The board makes decisions based on the evidence submitted independent from the Assessor.  This year Grievance Day is Tuesday May 25, 2021, with afternoon and evening sessions scheduled.   The Board may have to meet additional hours during the month of June to review complaints submitted to them.  The regular term of office for Board of Review Members is 5 years.  Anyone appointed to the Board of Review is required to take a 4 hour training session given by the county the year they are appointed.  Any interested candidates should submit a letter of interest to the Supervisor at 1915 Lucas Avenue, Cottekill, New York 12419.  If anyone has any questions regarding the position, they can contact the Assessor Michael Dunham at 845-687-7500 Ext 173.
