CASTING FOR A FEATURE FILM AT WAS HELD AT THE ROSENDALE THEATRE ON OCTOBER 27TH

DONE TO THE BONE, is an independent feature film being shot entirely in Ulster County in the towns of Kingston, New Paltz and Saugerties this winter, 2003. The production company was looking to cast local actors in a number of supporting roles.

DOWN TO THE BONE began as SNAKE FEED, a short film that was filmed in Ulster County 5 years ago and went on to win Best Short Film at the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL and sell to television worldwide. Based on the success of SNAKE FEED, the screenplay for DOWN TO THE BONE was work-shopped at the prestigious Sundance Institute and is now gearing up for production.

The production company, Aisle 10 Prouctions from Manhattan, is excited to be able to come back to Ulster County to make the feature film and hopes to work with the local community throughout the production of DOWN TO THE BONE.

Auditions were held, Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the Rosendale Theater on Main Street in Rosendale, N.Y. They interviewed the following:

10 a.m -Noon-     Boys, 8-13 years old

12:30-2:30 p.m.   Women, early 30's (being a parent is a PLUS)

Women, 40's-50's (having experience with Social Services, substance abuse counseling a plus)

3 p.m.-5 p.m.          Young Men 17-24 and Men- 40's-50's (experience with social services, substance abuse counseling and bikers a plus)

There are many non-speaking roles and day players all to be cast locally.

The Locations manager is a freelancer from West Hurley, Michele Baker, who is working on this production with Aisle 10. Here she is explaining to resident, Jesse Thomas Maucher, age 20, about his part requirements. Each actor was given "sides", which are the lines of their part to study and then they went into the front of the theatre lobby to be interviewed and filmed.

One resident, not identified, is seen here with the director on the left, Debra and the Producer, Anne Rosellini, both from Aisle 10 Productions.

Here is another picture of Debra and Anne getting the camera set up for the on camera interview.

Good Luck to all who auditioned!
