MEMORIAL DAY PARADE 2002
The Annual Rosendale Memorial's Day Parade ended with a beautiful reading from the American Legion, with crowd participation and prayers for the victims of 9/11, as well as, all of those who gave their lives for this great country
This year's event was highlighted by a special dedication celebration for Memorial Park's new Gazebo with Speaker, former Rosendale resident and friend of Captain George G. Duffy's family, Stephen E. Huben, Jr. giving us a bit of history on the Captain's heroic death. Attending the ceremony were descendents of Captain Duffy's family as you can see in the pictorial of the morning's events below. Supervisor Phil Terpening welcomes all who came to the parade and thanked the American Legion for sponsoring the parade and Memorial Ceremony. He also thanked the Women's Club for their beautification of the Memorial Park and the town with their "Clean-up Day. He said that we all should reflect on those who gave their lives for their country and the tradegy of 9/11. Then Supervisor Terpening introduced Mr. Stephen E. Huben, Jr. who came from Sarasota especially to speak about Captain George G. Duffy.
