Rosendale Commission for the Conservation of the Environment

Attendance: Chair Joan Maylie, Nick Mercurio, Jennifer Metzger, Paul Lendvay, Joe Liuni.

 Excused: Ilonka Lukas, Rick VandenHeavel, Ed Maestro, Deb Weltsch

Previous minutes were not reviewed to due technical difficulties.

Old Business
Membership-Joan M discussed and reviewed new terms for members of this commission.

Biodiversity Assessment- Jennifer M reported that the new application has been sent in. This grant will allow an biodiversity assessment, of approximately 3,038 acres, to be completed out of approximately 13,012 acres in the town of Rosendale.  The bulk of these acres is south of the Rondout Creek, Rosendale.
Joan M mentioned a GIS training, free of charge, and asked if anyone would be interested to taking this training.

Wetlands- Nick M. reported that a meeting with town officials has not taken place , he is continuing to arrange this meeting

Planning Board- Nick M reported that site plan forms are in the process of being updated. Concerns were discussed re the Williams Lake property and the new owners.

Joe L. reported that the County EMC  are  reorganizing and reviewing the by laws. They will soon have a secretary and hope all county towns will have their liaisons attend these meetings.

Recycling- Joan reported that the town of Marbletown is accepting computers etc at their center. 

Open Space-T o update this commission, we are not able to access our information that had been complied previously by the County.  An Arcview program is needed to accomplish the final printed data.
