National Day of Prayer and Meditation

The day was dreary and drizzly, but a small grouping of residents gathered to hear Rev. Carol Cruikshank's lovely and spiritual poem that opened up the annual event.

It is always so inspirational to listen to Rev. Cruikshank's wisdom and talented prose

With bowed heads, those who attended listened intently to the Rev. Nick Miles, from the Bloomington Reformed Church, read a  personally written piece of prose that was inspired by "I Believe" by Dr. Martin Luther King.

Father Florez, from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Rosendale, delivered truly heartfelt words about peace, the value of family life and moral goodness.

The Day of Prayer Ceremony concluded with the music of "Happy Trails" as the gathering all sang "Let there be Peace on Earth"

"Happy Trails" is a group that performs for nursing homes, health related facilities and many events in several counties. Mr. John Maschino, a Deacon at the Bloomington Reformed Church is shown here playing the keyboard and Mr. Vince Sickles, who is the church's choirmaster, accompanied on the harmonica.

The Town of Rosendale would like to thank all the clergy who gave us their time and inspiration and also the members of "Happy Trails" for their melodic contribution.
